By superconducting magnetic separation experiment, we could grope for some parameters and properties of magnetic material and weakly magnetic material, such sa field strength of magnetic separation, dissociative granularity, slurry concentration, slurry flow rate, separation media, dispersant and flocculating agents etc. This leading equipment has provided basic data for researching separation and purification of metal and non-metallic mineral, full utilization of mineral resources and mineral properties etc.
This superconducting magnetic separator with small size, light weight, high magnetic field strength and the continuously adjustable background magnetic field, convenient operation and it can be easily installed in the room. Because of adopting cooling way of soaking coil in liquid helium, it can make exciting and beneficiation experiment at any time. Especially it's suitable for Research Institutes and institutes of higher learning which engaged in scientific work in the field of magnetic separation.
The superconducting magnetic separator uses the characteristics that the superconducting coil resistance is zero in the low temperature, when strong current pass the superconducting coil which is immersed in the liquid helium, the background intensity can reach 6.5T, this background field strength of superconducting magnet is unmatched by conductive magnet and permanent magnet.
When it works, separation canister enter the magnet, at the moment the surfaces of magnetic stainless steel which is in the separation canister will produce 2-2.5 times induction field strength. When a certain concentration of the slurry runs through the magnetic steel wool, the magnetic steel wool will catch magnetic material and other weakly magnetic material of slurry, others will be collected by separation canisters. After this beneficiation, separation canister will leave the magnet, the magnetic intensity of steel wool is almost zero, then using high-pressure water to wash steel wool, the magnetic material that attached to the steel wool will be washed out. This is a complete beneficiation flow.

The Technical Advantage
The background field strength can reach 6.5T and magnetic field intensity can be adjusted continuous.
Using closed-cycle cooling technology and a GM refrigerator to maintain Dewar temperature, it can make the superconducting magnet maintaining in the 4.2K superconducting state.
Less and nonvolatile helium liquid
With the optimized design physical, high current density, smaller volume, it can generate a strong background field and therefore the magnet only needs 25 liters of liquid helium to immerse coils.
Small size and light weight.
The miniaturization design is adapted in the use of laboratory conditions. The whole equipment volume: 4m*3m*1.4m, total weight is 4.5 t.
Quick disassembling and separation device
When replacing the magnetic steel wool of separation canister, filters can be installed in tandem quickly, this way can solve the problem that steel wool medium is fluffy and is not easy to fill.
Quick-change connecting line and self-cleaning.
The circulation of slurry chooses standardized quick coupling in order to connect easily. After each test operation, it can clean itself and remove residues thoroughly.
Manually/Automatic control mode can be switched freely
There are two control modes setting on our machine to satisfy the demand of a variety of experiment: manually and automatic. In automatic operation mode, it can repeat process continuously.
The PLC monitor parameters of magnet in real time, such as temperature, pressure and current etc. and also make remote monitoring for equipment operating condition in order to manage and control quality easily.
Analysis of equipment operating cost
Total power is less than 14.15KW, the highest power consume is 14.15 KW per hour during equipment running. When the machine doesn't work, only refrigeration system at work, the power consume is 7.5KW.
Consumption of steel wool:
When the researchers are doing experiments of different minerals, they may choose 7 kinds of different steel wool, each type of steel wool is filled with separation system that only needs 0.7 kg and the average price of per kilogram is 400RMB. Even if in the separation canister is filled with all kinds of steel wool, total cost is about 2000RMB per year.

The maintenance time of the cold head is about 15,000-20,000 hours every time, maintenance costs is about 30,000-40,000RMB.
